January Vacation in Massachusetts
Maya at the indoor play place in Haverhill. |
Craig and Maya went climbing in the maze and down the slides. |
Maya sneaking raisins in the corner. |
Jumping around the Christmas tree.
Fun in the Snow
It snowed while we were home in America. Perfect timing to break in her new snow boots! It was the first time Maya got to play in the snow and her first time sledding. Verdict: snow is tasty, snowball fights are hilarious, and sledding is fun.
It's "A Christmas Story" Moment. We put Maya in the snow suit and plopped her down on the drive way. She couldn't move, so she just gave in, stuck her tongue out and tried to catch snow flakes. |
What do I do, Mom? |
We broke out the old sled and played in the front yard. |
Ready, go! |
Mechanics Row in the snow. |
My mother calls her gnomes "or ga-nomes" her second family. I had to laugh when I went down in the basement and found a little "family" reunion going on! |
It's getting to be a pretty big collection, isn't it? |
Craig and Maya relaxing on the couch and watching Maya's favorite movie, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." |
This is a picture Maya took of Ivan and Colleen. |
Time for a smooch. |
Mwah! |
Mom's Birthday Party
We all got together in Amesbury for my mother's birthday party at the beginning of January. Here we all are sitting down for dinner. |
Another very flattering shot of the dinner party. You're welcome! |
The blue icing dyed my mother's teeth blue. We were all laughing hysterically about it, so she was a good sport and let me take a photo for posterity. |
Play Time with the Christines
Finally the stars aligned for me to get together with my two friends named Christine and our ever-expanding broods. Here are a few pictures from our afternoon together.
Maya and Grayson check out his big-kid bed on the left. Carter looks on, and Ella gets dressed up. |
More playing going on in the kids' room. |
Beep beep! |
Christine F. , Autumn, Carter, Christine M., Maya, Craig, and Nick's injured foot. |
Sweet Autumn. |
Some serious jenga going on right here. |
There's Marley, all dressed up!

Alex and Maya |
Craig's cheering Alex on as he takes his first few steps. |
Maya, Me, and Alex playing on the stairs. |
Maya had to go take a nap, but Alex is keeping an eye on her on the monitor. |
Cooking with Granny Annie
Maya and I helped Granny Annie make banana bread! |
Cambridge
I went to Cambridge with Maya and my mother to visit my friends at the Peabody museum. Here's our group shot: Diana, Allison, Emily, Maya, Me, and Trish. So much amazing in one photo! |
We went over to the Natural History side of the museum building to show Maya the animals. She was suuuuuuuuper into all of the taxidermy animals, especially this little grouse thing. She didn't want to leave! |
Other things out and about
I got a new haircut! This picture was taken on a trip to visit Granny Annie at the hospital where she works. |
Kirsten, Maya, and Me. Kirsten taught Maya a little lesson about lipgloss. Now she can't get enough! |
Taking a walk. |
Home Sweet Home
We got Maya a little table and chair as a belated Christmas present. |
Time for coloring, a.k.a. "going" in Maya speech. |
Craig and Maya jam sesh.
Pete playing soccer. |
So many rainy days in a row meant it was time to get creative - literally - in order to stay occupied during the long afternoons. Pete is keeping us company. Oh, and check out the new booster seat that Maya just graduated into! |
I'm not sure this is what they meant by "fingerpainting," but hey. |
Potato stamp. |
