Solar Eclipse

On Friday, March 20th we were lucky enough to witness a great solar eclipse. Here's Maya, taking a look outside before the eclipse starts. Maya is excited about the "e-kwipse" because the sun plays peek-a-boo.
Here I am in our sunroom watching the eclipse with the pinhole shadowbox Maya and I built.

Pictures of the eclipse as it looked through the shadow box. The total eclipse (full darkness) only hit the UK in northern Scotland. In Wigston we got a near-total eclipse, which means that a little crescent of the sun was still visible during the eclipse.

Pictures of the eclipse as it looked in the sky. The sun is shrinking! It got very dark.
Maya and I were inspired by the shadow box, so we made our own shadows in the sunroom wall.
Oh yeah, I just remembered why I don't wear dangling earrings any more.

 Around the House

It took almost a month for the birds in our back yard to find our new bird feeder. I was so excited to spot a little bird at the feeder one morning that I shot this photo. Proof!

My other birdie. Bath time "howl."

Maya and Me

I was doing a little spring cleaning and I found Maya's temporary tattoos. I put a little star on her leg just like Daddy has.
Then we took it one step further and dressed up completely like Daddy.
We found her Halloween costume too. Super Maya (sometimes a witch) is still going strong around our house these days.
